The 5th City of Derry Jazz and Big Band Festival in Northern Ireland offered up the usual feast of entertainment, with top international, national and local musicians all taking part. Derek played with Jools Holland and his R&B Orchestra on two nights at the largest venue, the Millenium Forum. Part of the fun of a Jazz Festival, are the many 'fringe' events that take place in smaller bars & clubs etc, as can be seen in the photos below!

During a lunchtime stroll through the town, Derek was invited to play a song with local sax player Gay McIntyre and his Band. Along with Paul McIntyre on Piano & Alan Niblock on Bass, they were joined by singer Andra Sparks and performed the old Ray Charles classic "Georgia".
